Treatment Advice

Below you’ll find good to know information prior to getting a a treatment:

Pre-Treatment Advice

Every step is taken to ensure a client’s suitability for a treatment, so it is of the utmost importance that you disclose any medical matters or concerns in confidence.

Certain medications (such as pain killers) can cause unwanted results, so please discuss this with us in advance of booking your appointment to avoid disappointment on the day.

There may be circumstances where medical consent must be sought before the treatment can be given, so please give some consideration to this and inform us at the time of booking if you have (or received treatment for within 5 years) any medical conditions or are taking any prescribed medication. You can then be advised if you need to seek GP/consultant consent.  Your safety and well-being are paramount to us.

You will be asked to remove your shoes , but please keep socks on if you are suffering with any foot conditions such as athlete's foot or verrucae.  Thank you.

  • You get a full treatment time, as consultation is done before treatment begins
  • At your first appointment you’ll receive a thorough evaluation to determine what factors might be contributing to your pain and mobility issues.

  • There’s no extra charge for varying the massage (exception to oils and stones) – We will work with you to obtain the desired outcome. If you have a sore back and legs, we will work with both in same treatment, just book a time length in our clinical treatment section!

  • Every session is customized to meet your individual treatment goals. Want a lighter touch or more pressure? No problem.

  • You’ll learn self-care techniques that you can use at home.

  • We provide comfort touches like soothing music, soft lighting, a table warmer and microfiber linens.

Pregnancy - Not all treatments are suitable during pregnancy.  Please let me know prior to any appointment, pregnancy massage is available at our centre.

Children: Children under the age of 16 may receive certain treatments with the consent of their parent/GP, and with the parent present throughout the treatment.

Please discuss your requirements prior to booking an appointment. We respectfully ask that children in any other cases are not brought to your appointment.  Thank you.

Gentlemen:  Gentlemen are very welcome at Willow Massage Centre.  However, please do not confuse our business as a massage parlour.  You will be sorely disappointed 🙂

We insist on a thorough consultation for all new massage clients prior to your first treatment.

This is to ensure your suitability and to complete a medical history.  It is also an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and expectations.

This will take approximately 15 minutes, so please allow time for this.
It is our opinion that if you are familiar with your therapist and your environment prior to your treatment, you will achieve a deeper state of relaxation during your treatment. Please shower prior to your massage appointment.

Thankyou for choosing Willow Massage Centre for your massage therapy treatment.  We hoped you enjoyed it.  Here are some tips to make sure it lasts!

Plenty of water-  After a massage some people can feel a little disoriented/dizzy.  This is down to the drop in blood pressure.  Drinking plenty of water will help with this.

Keep the oils on! The oils we use at Willow Massage Centre are great for hydrating your skin.  And when it’s been rubbed in by an expert why would you want to wash it off?

Stay nice and warm – During a massage your muscles will be stretched and worked on.

By adding cold to these too quickly it can make them contract uncomfortably.  Massage therapy stimulates the blood flow to the muscles, this also encourages them to warm up, raising your core temperature, so make sure to wrap up.

Let it go! Part of making a massage last longer is to let it.  Give      yourself permission to take the time to relax.

Have a bath and stretch- after a massage we suggest that evening having a lovely salt bath.  The salt in the bath will complement your massage be adding heat and hydration.  water, re- moisturising your skin.

We currently sell a range of products in store to help you feel great after your massage.  E.g. bath salts, bath soufflés etc.

Don’t forget to schedule your next massage! – Massage has its   greatest benefits over time.  The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative, so the more often you get a massage the better you will feel and the more quickly your body will respond.

We stock a range of salts and bath bombs that will complement any treatment:
